The Nail Technology course consists of 50 hours of instruction covering applied sciences and skills in manicuring, pedicuring, and artificial nail applications. It also includes preclinical lessons on anatomy, dermatology, chemistry as relevant to manicuring, electricity, lights, infection control, safety procedures, and Minnesota statutes and rules pertaining to manicuring practice. Elementary service skills are also taught.
Additionally, the course includes a total of 300 hours of planned clinical instruction, focusing on applied sciences and hands-on experience in manicuring, pedicuring, and artificial nail applications. Once you complete the training, you will have fulfilled the 350-hour requirement set by the State of Minnesota. This will make you eligible to take the Minnesota State Licensing Exam, a necessary step to become a licensed Nail Technician.
