The main goal of the Instructor Training course is to provide comprehensive guidance for individuals aspiring to become licensed Cosmetology/Esthiology/Nail Technology Instructors. This course encompasses both technical and written skills necessary to attain licensure, ensuring competence for work in Minnesota.
The Instructor Training course comprises 45 hours of instruction that covers a range of topics, including the history of teaching, cultivating educator relationships, designing effective study programs, utilizing educational tools, teaching and learning methods, achieving successful learning outcomes, conducting professional performance evaluations, preparing for licensure, understanding Minnesota state laws and rules, honing skills and presentation techniques, managing a classroom, addressing industry needs, teaching in a dynamic clinic setting, catering to diverse learning styles, and employing impactful teaching and learning strategies.
Upon fulfilling all Minnesota state laws and regulations outlined by the Board of Cosmetology Examiners, candidates will be eligible to take the Minnesota State Licensing Exam, which is a requirement to become a Licensed Instructor as per their existing licensure. The evaluation process for licensed candidates involves presenting a lesson plan and delivering a subject chosen from the offerings provided by the Minnesota Board of Cosmetologists.
Please note, prospective participants in the Instructor Training Course must hold a valid license in Cosmetology, Esthiology, Advanced Practice Esthetics, or Nail Technology.
