The Esthiology course is designed with the following structure: First, you’ll engage in 120 hours of preclinical instruction, which covers essential topics such as anatomy, dermatology, and chemistry as they relate to skin care. You’ll also delve into infection control, safety procedures relevant to skin care practice, and familiarize yourself with Minnesota’s statutes and rules governing the field. Additionally, you’ll receive student orientation and gain elementary service skills.
Moving forward, the core of the Esthiology curriculum entails 37 hours of instruction in applied science and skills. This segment will focus on procedures like cosmetic skin care, client consultation, skin analysis, and applications of facials, makeup, and waxing.
Throughout your journey, you’ll participate in a total of 443 hours of meticulously planned clinical instruction. This hands-on experience will immerse you in the practical aspects of cosmetic skin care, client consultation, skin analysis, and applications of facials, makeup, and waxing.
Upon successful completion of this comprehensive training, you’ll have fulfilled the state of Minnesota’s requirement of 600 hours encompassing theory and practical experience in the applied sciences of Esthiology. This achievement makes you eligible to take the Minnesota State Licensing Exam, a crucial step toward becoming a licensed Esthetician.
A noteworthy detail: Practical client interactions will commence once you’ve completed 120 preclinical hours.
